As I running errands child free yesterday I took advantage and did a little try on at Target! It's been a long time since I posted one of these and forgot how exhausting but also super fun they are. I love shorts and sweaters as we transition seasons and trying a few new trends for Spring. Click to shop any photo and watch my Instagram try-on session @hkpfeff for details and sizing info!

Crazy for Camo
My love affair with camo began way back in 2000. I was 13 and the boys were white tee shirts with camo pants on dress down days. The print quickly made it's way into my closet and has never left. I love that it's currently a stylish option and let's be honest, I'll be THAT MOM embarrassing my kids when I roll up in a 10 year old sweatshirt that is sooooo 2019 and declare my unconditional love in front of their friends. I won't apologize. Payback kids. Payback.

Cozy Cardis
I can feel fall creeping in, FINALLY, and that means it's sweater weather! Cozy cardigans are staples in my wardrobe, perfect for the end of summer to fall transition. Cool morning layers peel off for warm afternoons and then go right back on for evenings outside. I've linked up my current faves that I'll be wearing on repeat and styled a zillion different ways. Cozy is the new black!

4th of July Style
The biggest patriotic American holiday is upon us, one week from today! And why not celebrate in style? Cookouts, parades and fireworks are best enjoyed in the colors of the flag. I love putting together red, white and blue outfits for myself and it's even more fun dressing my cute little babes. I've rounded up all my faves for mama and the minis and we will be rocking several of these exact pieces next week!

PJ Party
It's a pj party and you're invited! Hi my name is Hilary and I'm a pajamaholic. Really. It's a sickness. I polled my Instagram followers on whether or not it was crazy to spend $50 on a super cute pj set and the majority vote was yes. Naturally I ordered them anyway. Sometimes ya just gotta treat yo' self. Okay normally I would not spend so much on myself, total splurge purchase for me. But I justify them along with the rest of my pajama collection with the fact that I spend so much time wearing them. I'm a SAHM with a wild toddler and a new baby so there are many days when pjs are my OOTD. Like today. And probably tomorrow. So having cute ones makes me feel better about rocking them all day. Alright, who am I kidding, I loved pjs long before I was a mom. But I'm going to keep blaming it on the children. Just let me have this one okay? Here are my tops picks if you want to join the party. All the cool kids are dong it.

Jogger Round Up
I've reached the point in this pregnancy where I just want to be as comfortable as possible. And luckily my job allows for that. If I'm not in actual pajamas I'm in clothes that are basically pajamas acceptable for wearing in public. The whole loungewear/athleisure trend is really freaking awesome. Stylish + comfy pjs for the win! When I get dressed I alternate between leggings or joggers. And I forsee this pattern continuing for the next several months. I love that they can be paired with anything from sweatshirts to long sleeved tees with vests/cardis to t-shirts and henleys or nursing tanks postpartum. So I thought I'd link up all my current favorite joggers and few things I love to wear with them.

Layered Looks
I like classic neutrals. And jewel tones. I like stripes. And plaid. I like camo, chenille and flannel. And the best part about a layered look is that I get wear several of them at the same time. Okay so there's also a practical point to be made for layering clothes. When it's still warm in the afternoon but chilly in the morning it's easy to take off the top layers without changing clothes. Even if it's the dead of winter wearing multiple layers keeps me warm but makes it easy to take off a jacket or vest before I start to break a sweat while running around with my kid. And then there's the whole pregnancy thing. Layering a scarf or vest over a t-shirt or sweater is weather appropriate and stylish but also bump friendly. Open front shirts, jackets and vest are also great for layering over nursing tanks for new mamas. I mean is there a downside?

Fall Capsule Wardrobe: Toddler Girls
We did not find out Fallon was a girl until she was born so it was gender neutral everything up until that point. And then allllll the cute girly things came. I was more than set to go with newborn and 0-3 month clothing but by 3-6 months I was on my own. I just have the girl mom experience but my goodness it was so overwhelming diving into the world of dressing a baby girl. So I made it my mission to make daily outfits as easy and fun as possible and daddy friendly too.
I had read plenty of blog posts about capsule wardrobes for women but never any for kids. It seemed that the same basic principles would apply no matter the age though so I dove in. The first thing I like to do is "window shop" when it's time to size up and/or prepare for a season change. Browse your favorite stores and small shops online and put everything you initially like in your cart. This allows you to see everything together while bookmarking it and sometimes retailers will e-mail coupons to entice you to make that purchase. Once you've made your initial round, start going back and checking to see if you have items that are very similar, narrow down what you don't absolutely love and decide which expensive items are worth it. Then the real work begins. Go through and try to make outfits in your mind with the pieces you have chosen. Ideally each piece can be part of 3 or more different outfits. But of course there will be those pieces that only go with one top or one pair of tights and that's okay! You just want to make sure you don't have too many pieces that are
"solo items" so you maximize your options and get the most bang for your buck.
I purposely I am not doing this post in the style that I've seen it done before. Truthfully any capsule wardrobe is still personalized to the individual's own taste. So I wanted to give a basic outline of how to create your own as opposed to listing examples of each piece that should make it up. Not everyone likes stripes, some stick with basic solids, others go for bold pieces. Any style can be corralled into a capsule wardrobe so you can do you, just simplified. The key to the capsule wardrobe is the mix and match factor. If you love all kinds of prints and bright colors have solids to balance and coordinate with them all. Go with your favorite basics in those same colors you're always drawn to but grab pieces with fun details and textures to mix in. Get all the stripes but get all the neutrals. Your kid's (or your own) clothes, your call! But if you need a visual or some inspiration to get started, here you go.

Hat Hair Don't Care
It's no secret that I only wash my hair once a week. I get by without looking like a total greaseball (I think) with dry shampoo, topknots and hats. And lately there have been a lot of hats. They cover the dirty part or bedhead part of my hair and become part of an outfit that would otherwise most likely be pajamas. They look cute with a low messy bun, a ponytail or 3 day old curls. The best part? They're actually stylish. So today I'm sharing my favorites and how I've been wearing them with my momiform.
Classic black, goes with everything, always in style
Floral, adds a little something to plain jane outfits and pairs well with other patterns
Pink faux suede, a color pop yet neutral at the same time
Marled gray, perfect for all the athleisure or jeans + tee

Favorite Finds
I'll be honest, the end of summer left me feeling so uninspired I felt like I didn't have much to share, hence the lack of posts. But September has brought fall like weather and I'm suddenly all kinds of motivated to share new things as we welcome my favorite season. Fall fashion, fall decor, fall recipes, I have so many post ideas swirling around in my head now and I can't wait to get back into this blogging groove. It's a 60 something degree morning and Fallon and I are off to adventure. But first, my latest favorites.

PJ Party: Floral Edition
All things floral has been my motto all summer and there is no sign of it changing for fall. I also still live by pjs all day, even though those days are fewer and further between during pool season. But I do love to slip right into my jams after a day of running around with Fallon or chasing her around the baby pool. A nice pretty floral is so nice to wake up to in the morning too, like a bouquet you don't have to water greeting you for the day. We had a slow Saturday morning over the weekend with coffee and snuggles and Fallon destroying the roses I had just picked. But it made for a nice little photo shoot, my room smelled like fresh flowers and I was inspired to find the cutest floral pjs for you all. Any maybe more for me. Because clearly I don't have enough.

Little Floral Dress
You may have noticed my floral obsession as of late and I just can't seem to quit. There are some many gorgeous prints right now it's easy to get to sucked in to the trend. But I'm surprised by how versatile a floral dress can be. My exact dress is here but I linked some others I'm loving as well as similar wine colored booties (mine are last year). I love that a floral dress is easy breezy enough for these warm summer months but will transition so nicely into fall. It looks cute with lace up sandals or even a lightweight vest for summer days and there are endless options for booties, OTK boots or slip on sneaks in the fall. Throw on a utility or jean jacket when that chill is in the air and you're all set. I can totally see myself dressing this up with a leather jacket or down with a cardi + beanie.

Happy Hump Day Friends!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
It's that time of year again, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us! Every year there is so much excitement and hype surrounding this sale and honestly it never disappoints. You can snag so many great pieces for fall at steeply discounted prices and get a jump start on next season's wardrobe. Although early access has been available to Nordstrom card holders for a week, the sale goes live to the public tomorrow. I'm sharing my top picks and I have a strong feeling many of these items will sell out quickly, so get them while you can!
You know by now that leggings and tees are my jam so of course I was drawn to a few of those immediately. Black moto leggings are a staple for me because I can run around in them or dress them up a bit if I'm feeling fancy. I am all about the layered look when it gets chilly and soft, cozy cardigans are where it's at in my opinion. Grey is my favorite neutral but burgundy will be swooping in for fall. Honestly I'll still be in sneakers and probably Ugg boots most of the time but I think I'll have to finally give OTK boots a shot. Plain old distressed jeans will always have my heart but I've been looking for a pair of distressed black jeans. And they would pair so well with the cognac leather jacket or the cold shoulder sweaters. And did you honestly think I wouldn't throw in a comfy pair of pjs pants? I mean, they have grey stripes. SOLD.
Happy shopping!

Jams Are Our Jam
I will go ahead and state the obvious, we take our pajama game very seriously around here. I just can't pass up a cute pair for Fallon and lately I've even found some cute options for mama too! There is just something so soothing about snuggling up for bed in comfy jams and you know we spend many a day never changing out of them. The softer the better, which is why I jumped at the chance to work with Finn + Emma.
Let's first talk about how incredibly amazing the material is! I wish all clothes were made of 100% organic cotton. Fallon is now wearing 2 piece sets and I can't get over how cute and grown up she looks in them. I love the fun prints and soft colors and she wears them out to run errands or on morning walks all the time since they basically double as outfits. We get compliments on them every time!
As a mom I love knowing that my baby girl is sleeping peacefully in non-toxic pajamas made with eco friendly dyes. As a person I love that Finn + Emma products are produced in fair trade settings. Supporting a company with strong core values that makes safe clothing and toys for my baby is my pleasure. You can find Fallon's giraffe or arrow print pajamas as well the entire collection of Finn + Emma products here. Keep your jam game strong.

Everyday Favorites
As a SAHM I no longer have to follow a dress code every day, but I've fallen into the habit of wearing a kind of uniform. Running errands, pushing the stroller through the park and chasing my wild child aren't actives that lend themselves to nice polished outfits. So most of the time you will find me in leggings with a tee and sneaks, a hat to cover my messy hair, sports bra underneath and earrings to make me think I look a teensy bit put together. And of course an iced coffee. I have the pieces that make up this momiform in varying colors and brands but after nearly a year on the jobI've found my go-to favorites. So today I thought I'd share them all with you.
My hat is under $10 and comes in lots of fun colors. These earrings are 2 years old but they're still a best seller and go with absolutely everything. The softest v-neck pocket tee that isn't too oversized yet not too fitted comes is several great colors and it's currently on sale! A sports bra that's supportive yet not restrictive and so easy to nurse in? Yea, I have it in several colors. Every mama needs a good pair of black leggings and these are hands down the best! And I couldn't be happier that sneakers are so stylish because these Nikes are incredibly comfortable + light weight and if I posted my outfit every day y'all would be SO sick of seeing them. Of course my momiform isn't ever really complete without some teething jewelry for Fally. Our favorite brand has the prettiest styles that you've probably noticed I wear all the time and you can save 15% off your purchase with my code HILARYPFEFF.
