Saturday morning Chris and had our 3 year old niece Miyah for the morning. We decided donuts and holiday paper straws were in order. Miyah brought some of her favorite toys with her since we don't have any human kid toys at our house and it's a good bet she wouldn't be interested in half chewed slobbery dog toys.
The funny thing is that she had the most fun playing with some of our Christmas decorations. If you've been to Target at any point in the last 2 months you've probably seen all their colorful Christmas decor. I bought the triangular wooden Advent calendar and have had it sitting in the middle of our kitchen table. We ended up spending a good hour filling it with peppermint chocolate candies and counting all the days until Christmas 100 times.
But we probably got the biggest kick out of the nutcracker show. I have 2 nutcrackers on display, one is bright pink and the other is very sparkly, 2 things very appealing to a 3 year old girl. When I got them down and showed her how they work she was so excited to "make them talk to each other". And of course she named them Charlie Brown and Snoopy.
The only 3 year old kids I live with are of the furry variety and I can only imagine how much I'll be eating these words when we've got a human one around here, but the few hours we spent with Miyah were thoroughly entertaining and she was such a good girl that it was all fun for us.
