So much has been going on lately I haven't gotten around to this post. My 28th birthday was last week, but the bigger birthday was Chris's. He turned 30 earlier last month and he couldn't have cared less that he's officially out of his 20s and into a new decade of life. We celebrated with friends and family at Dirty Dick's, the perfect place for his sarcastic humor loving self.
I gifted the birthday boy with a fridge shelf full of 30 beers and a t-shirt I knew he'd love. He thinks he's so lucky to still be getting presents for his birthday, (spoiler alert: birthday gifts go on forever in this family) but we are the ones so lucky to celebrate another birthday with him. He doesn't bat an eye when I wear slippers on early morning grocery trips, just shakes his head and smiles at my clumsiness and tells me I'm pretty even when it looks like I just boarded the hot mess express. He loves all the animals like he's had them forever, cares for them better than some people care for their human children and defends them to anyone who dares say something offensive. We can't say enough how happy we were to celebrate a milestone birthday with this guy. In honor of the #dirty30, I give you 30 things about Chris.
1. He loves hot sauce, he puts that s*** on everything
2. Goetta is his jam, we are even having it at our wedding
3. He might complain sarcastically, but he will do anything to help anyone he cares about
4. Charles Woodson is his favorite athlete of all time
5. Growing up he had a pet Pigmy goat named Carmel
6. Over half the shoes his owns are Nike Airmax
7. He wears a ball cap anywhere he's allowed to
8. His hair was white blonde as a kid but eventually turned brown as he got older
9. He used to have his ears pierced but took them out shortly after he and I met
10. He has a tattoo that covers his right shoulder blade in memory of his mom
11. His is insanely strong and could actually throw me across the room if he wanted to
12. His first time going out of the country was on a trip to Punta Cana, DR with me in November 2013
13. 95% of the time he will fall asleep during a movie
14. He picked the song for our first dance at our wedding
15. The only thing he can actually cook is breakfast
16. He has a Class A CDL driver's license, which also means he has a .04 blood alcohol limit to drive legally
17. If we ever have a boy child he will insist we name him Woodson (refer to #4, THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN)
18. His favorite thing to do on the weekend would be grilling out, playing cornhole and drinking beer with friends and family (dogs included)
19. He has many nicknames involving part of his last name: Pfeff, Pfeffy pants, Pfeffy poo
20. He has a motorcycle
21. My sister hated him when they first met (she totally loves him now)
22. His friends are all guys he went to high school with
23. He broke his thumb a long time ago but never went to the doctor so it healed on its own and looks crazy
24. He grew up next door to his uncle's farm that is over 130 acres
25. His favorite whiskey is Jim Beam Devil's Cut
26. Dressing up is one of his least favorite things to do, he's a total shorts and t-shirt guy
27. He used to steal road signs like a second job that was totally illegal and he of course did not get paid for
28. His dream is to have a dog training and rescue facility
29. He used to do landscaping and is incredibly particular about it, every house we have looked at he's said he would rip it all out and start over
30. He cannot wait to go snorkeling in Hawaii on our honeymoon
